Why the origin matters

There are more and more joinery makers, and they promise a lot. It happens ever more often that the joinery fitted is not the one paid for – you pay for 5 chambers and get 3. It also happens that joinery is sold as German, Austrian or Belgian but is made elsewhere.

For someone who is not a specialist it is hard to tell what is good quality and whether it is worth the price. Aluplast IDEAL 2000 profiles are among the few on the market that really are made in Germany.

The IDEAL 2000 system

IDEAL 2000 is the most solid 3-chamber system by Aluplast, 60 mm deep. It gives excellent heat and sound insulation, a high level of security and durability, and protection from noise and weather – at very good value for money.

Its many variants make it suitable for private homes as well as commercial buildings. The manufacturer states that the profile stays stable for 50 years.

A steel reinforcing profile sits in the middle chamber for maximum rigidity. The profiles have a glossy surface and a wide range of colours, and the gasket can be replaced.

Aluplast GmbH is an international manufacturer of PVC profile systems. By its figures for 2007 the company has 10 production sites turning out more than 150 thousand tonnes of profiles a year, and supplies 1,600 factories that make over 10 million windows a year. Nearly 1,400 employees work on development, production and distribution.
